Your Guide to Making More with Pay Per Click Advertising
3 May 2009First of all PPC marketing is one of the methods that can seriously help in getting targeted traffic and generating more sales from your online business. Those who want to be successful at PPC marketing, then you need the knowledge about how to optimize your PPC campaign.
This is something which you should do on a regular basis. This will make sure that you are really not leaving the money on the table, during these times of economic hardships.
One of the things to begin with is the placement and positioning of the PPC ads. Surely, no one is going to go to page 2, 3 or 4 and thus your PPC ads on these pages will simply make sense in terms of traffic and making money. But there is another paradox – the PPC ads which are located at the top position are not always generated targeted traffic, because people are quite “chaotic” beings and click emotionally.
That is why it becomes obvious that having your add somewhere between positions number two and number five can be the best choice for making more sales.
The next step is a very important one – the creation of ad copy. Yes-yes, writing even a small piece of text requires to put the most important information into it. And it is not easy, because you are limited with a small number. This is where you need to practice a little on telling more by using less words. This is a mastery in itself 
It is also wise if you have several versions of the text – thus you will be able to test what works better, brings you more visitors. If, ad A is converting better then ad B – kill ad B and funnel all your money onto the ad A – as it has proven to be the best. And keep testing again and again, to make sure that you are you are getting better and better.
What will help you to see the effect from your ads is the CTR or click through rate. Basically it shows how appealing your ads are to the surfers in Google or any other search engine that is offering its own PPC service to the people.
Your goal is to fight for getting the highest click through rate possible. Because then it means that almost every cent you pay is bringing you nice money, sales, sign ups, leads – whatever you are gathering from that sort of traffic. And that is why click through rate goes hand in hand with the split testing (when you test ad A against ad B and choose the best). By resorting to slight changes in the text of the ads A and B, you will see what words are attracting the attention better and what words are cutting the traffic from your ads (and, hence, from your sites or web pages).
After reading this article you see that the battle for better click through rate with PPC never stops. But this is business. When you stop developing and improving – you get out of the game.
