With a few simple searches you can find out what your competitors are selling, how they’re marketing their products and services, the amount they’re charging, where they’re advertising, what their main search terms are, who ranks in the top 10 for these search terms etc etc

The incredible amount of research you can do feeds into the next on of John’s traffic building techniques called piggy backing. This is simply using the detailed competitive research to find the best products and services, how they’re being marketed and where they’re getting their visitors from. The idea being you can easily copy what they’re doing and save yourself the expnse of experimenting with traffic building techniques that aren’t going to work.

The next one of John’s internet marketing strategies is the good old 80/20 rule. This is no big deal as every entrepreneur advocates this principle, however, there’s literally thousands of ways to generate traffic and its so easy to get suckered into something that will waste your time and energy. traffic secrets is good because it shows you how to research and piggy back the 80/20 traffic building techniques that apply to your market.

The next of John’s traffic building techniques is to implement some of these 80/20 traffic building techniques and analyse the results. John’s experience is that its far better to improve on one of the traffic building techniques that is working than to try something new and unproven.

The final traffic building principle is all about building relationships. In the last few years, the web has developed into a much more social place and John feels that building friendships and giving your visitors a variety of ways of communicating and interacting with you will become more and more significant.
